Description

Extra Firm is the strongest compression Wellow makes. 30-40 mmHg of graduated support, tightest at the ankle and easing toward the knee.

It is part of our new support series, built with GradientKnit. At this strength a single soft fiber cannot hold the compression on its own, so the blend runs to 5 fibers, selected to maximize softness while still delivering serious compression. Knit on circular machines built specifically for compression. Ventilated mesh zones underfoot. Twice the nylon at the heel and toe.

30-40 mmHg is serious compression. This is what it feels like when it is built to actually wear.

  • Real 30–40 mmHg (millimeters of mercury). Graduated compression, tightest at the ankle and easing toward the knee. Our strongest level.
  • Softness at Higher Strength. Knit on circular machines with a strength-specific blend of 5 fibers, selected to maximize softness at 30–40 mmHg (millimeters of mercury).
  • Love Them or Your Money Back. Higher-strength compression you’ll love to wear — or your money back.

Serious compression. Surprisingly comfortable. Crafted with award-winning softness.

Wellow Compression Socks

Easy to Stretch

From toe to knee, there's more to your Wellows than meets the eye—just pull them on. With 4-way stretch, they'll slide over your calves and stretch all the way up to your knees.

Incredibly Soft & Comfy

Tired of scratchy, uncomfortable compression socks? We were, too. Wellow socks are made from a soft, breathable viscose from bamboo blend that keeps feet cool and dry no matter what you do.

Unique Compression Level

Most brands jump straight from 20-30 to 30-40. Firm sits at 25-33, a level you will not find anywhere else.

Why GradientKnit Matters

Compression socks diagram

Compression works through graduated pressure, not by making a sock tighter. It is strongest at the ankle and eases as it climbs toward the knee, supporting your legs in the direction they need it.

At higher strengths that gets harder to build without making a sock nobody wants to put on. GradientKnit is how we solved it: circular machines built for compression instead of standard sock lines, twisted plied yarns run slower for an even twist so pressure stays consistent, and fiber blends selected to maximize softness at each strength, 4 fibers in Firm and 5 in Extra Firm.

It is the difference between compression that works and compression you will actually keep wearing.
